Tayvallich is popular due to its location, its spectacular scenery; the views from around Tayvallich & Carsaig Bays being particularly beautiful.

Taynish National Nature Reserve, known locally as the 'Hidden Peninsula', is a short walk from the village where you can visit one of the largest remaining Oak woods left in Britain.

2008 saw the reintroduction of wild beavers into into Knapdale Forest. Being only a short drive away, Tayvallich is an ideal base from which to enjoy this unique wildlife experience.

Taynish

Taynish is recognised nationally and internationally for its high conservation value, due to the long history of the native woodlands with its richness of habitats.

You may see buzzards, great spotted woodpeckers, redstarts and wood warblers,colourful butterflies, dragonflies and even a glimpse of an otter or two.

It is because of this fantastic location, its breathtaking scenery, that many famous Scottish artists chose to live in Tayvallich and the surrounding area.
